What we collect

We support Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In. Your account data is stored in Supabase. Google and Apple receive data only during sign-in.

How we use it

We never sell your data, and we do not use it for our own advertising. Accounts without a paid Plus subscription see a small banner ad served by Google AdMob; see the Advertising section below for what that involves. Paid Plus subscribers see no ads.

AI processing

Your ingredients and preferences are sent to Claude (Anthropic's AI) to generate dinner suggestions. If you use photo scan, the photo you choose is sent to Claude to identify the ingredients in it; we do not keep the photo, and Anthropic handles it as described below. This data is processed in real time. Anthropic automatically deletes inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days, and does not use them to train its models. Anthropic may keep data longer only where the law requires it or to enforce its usage policies.

If you use "Ask about this dish," your questions are also sent to Claude to generate a response. Unlike suggestion generation, these questions and answers are saved to your account so your conversation history is there when you come back — you can delete them by deleting your account.

Advertising

Accounts without a paid Plus subscription see a small banner ad in the list of dinner ideas (the Dinners tab), served by Google AdMob. Paid Plus subscribers do not see ads; accounts that received Plus free through a promotion still do. To serve and measure these ads, Google may collect:

When you first open the app, iOS asks whether to allow tracking. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," Google still serves ads but cannot use your advertising identifier to personalize them. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device. Google's own handling of this data is described in Google's advertising privacy page.

Email

When you create an account, you can choose to receive our welcome series and occasional product updates; the box is not ticked by default. If you tick it, we add your email address to our email list, managed by MailerLite. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. If you sign up with Apple Sign-In, or use a hidden (private relay) email address, we do not add you to the list.

Separately from that list, we send account emails that you ask for, such as your sign-in code and password reset messages. These are not marketing.

To have your address removed from the list, use the unsubscribe link or write to privacy@fixdinner.app.

Third-party services

Your rights

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app. Your data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, everything stored with it is removed from our database, including your pantry, saved dinners, notes, feedback, chat history and any dinners you shared (their links stop working). Copies held by the services listed above follow their own schedules; for example, Anthropic deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, and if you joined the email list, use the unsubscribe link.

To ask for a copy of your data, or to ask us anything about it, write to privacy@fixdinner.app.
